Today's the day.

Okay i wanted to write some words before i finally leave for the barbecue. I am excited and a bit nervous and really sleapy. I'm not used to waking up this early on sundays. Well, anyhow I'm off .

Getting Ready

It's saturday night, and here I am laying on my bed, my mind wandering about such incoherent things but one thought that seems to outstand: Gee, I have to wake up early tomorrow morning in order to help at the the chicken barbecue. Dammit, how could i have forgotten?

I know this may sound shocking, but i am in fact a little bit nervous about tomorrow's activity. I have been waiting for this moment throughout the whole and now it's so close I can almost feel it. Let's hope for the barbecue to be a rotund succes. I've never been involved in any event or momevent similar to this one and im starting to like charity work.

Finally, whou would have though that all the tickets for VIFAC's pollocoa on sunday would be sould out already? Ehm okay, actually, I did. You know I spent 24/7 trying to sell tickets, so even though it is amazing, it does not surprise me. I know some people would say it definitely is not the same thing helping by giving your own money and recollecting money from somebody else, but to me it depends on the situation. Sometimes you realy want to help a cause but you have no means to do it so, that's when you can "sacrifice" your time and try to get funds from other people.

Why bother?

Seriously, why do we even bother to commit ourselves to certain activities?

What's the point of raising funds for pregnant women when you don't even get a 10%?
What's the poing in handing out flyers? It's not like people even say thank you or anything.

We should not be in it for the money, we should do it for the thrill of not being selfish even if it just for about 2 hours a day or sometimes even less. At first when i found out we would have to do our community service i was hating it! but then as i signed up on VIFAC and started working I realized it really wasn't that bad. In this precise moment, well I'm not loving it but I'm actually starting to like it.

Hungry? buy some chicken!

Haven't you ever asked yourself: Is there something I can do to help the others without sweating or without spending lots of money?

Well now there is a way to do so. Since I'm helping VIFAC, I am selling tickets for their annual chicken barbecue, all you have to do is buy one ticket and go pick up your food. There's nothing hard about it.

The reason why I chose selling tickets is because there was no other available option, but dont get me wrong, I am really enjoying this experience. I enjoy convicing people to help pregnant woman and in return they even get to eat chicken =D.

New begginings.

Every single person in this world has the right to life, but there's something that really intrigues me, not everyone really has the chance to live. Abortion is a subject with huge moral impact on society, wheter society's against it or not.

This is a reason why I've chosen to do my social service in VIFAC, a community center that helps pregnant women with very little or no resources at all. Sure, I'm "forced" to accomplish 50 hours of social service, but my plan is to keep going to the center after the semester is over.

There's nothing wrong in helping the others.
